Daddy Dance

Little feet climb on over toes,

Wiggle into place.

Miniature fingers stretch up,

Most expectantly.

Arms sway reaching for connection.

“Dance me, Daddy, dance!”

Music or no, irrelevant.

Laughter is tempo.

Gliding on trust and hopes and dreams

The world sings magic.

Promise in his gaze: “Don’t worry.

I’ll teach you the steps.”

Happy Father’s Day!
